Historic Silvermont Mansion in downtown Brevard NC is now an 8 acre county park with a 33 room Colonial Revival mansion on the National Register of Historic Places. You are invited to wander the mile trail past ancient native trees, a woodland garden, a Learning Garden of vegetables, and a rain garden. You can picnic, play tennis & basketball. The mansion built in 1916 offers classes on the first floor and be sure to explore the second floor museum. (Brevard is just a short drive from Asheville & Hendersonville).
