
Carl Sandburg Home & Working Farm in Flat Rock, NC
Now a national historic site, this is where Pulitzer Prize winner Carl Sandburg (1878 – 1967), American poet, author, lecturer, spent the final 22 years of his life. Today you are free to hike the trails in this beautiful 246 acre working farm. Visit the barn where Mrs. Sandburg raised her prize winning goats. For a small fee, you can tour his home “Connemara” built in 1838 (plan on spending several hours at the home).
Open every day 9 AM – 5 PM. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
