Visit the “Talking Trees” at the Holmes Educational State Forest in Hendersonville, NC. Easy short hikes on well-marked trails with exhibits and displays depicting ecology of a managed forest. This 240 acre area in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great treat for kids with the half mile walk of the Talking Trees Trail where pressing a button on a kiosk has a pre-recorded message about each tree.
